Senior VP Elected to Leadership Role at American College of Healthcare Executives

Karen-Moore_Lawrence-General.jpgKaren Moore, RN, MS, FACHE, senior vice president of operations and chief nursing officer at Lawrence General Hospital, has been appointed to the Council of Regents, the legislative body of the American College of Healthcare Executives. The Council of Regents serves as the vital link between the College and members by approving governance and membership regulations as well as promoting American College of Healthcare Executives programs, services, and activities within their respective areas. Moore is a past president of the Massachusetts chapter of the College and will represent Massachusetts in the national body in her new role.

Moore assumed her new position at the Council of Regents meeting March 24, 2018, during American College of Healthcare Executive’s 61st Congress on Healthcare Leadership at the Hyatt Regency Chicago.

Moore has served in her current role as senior vice president of operations and chief nursing officer at Lawrence General Hospital since 2015. Prior to this position, she served in chief nurse, chief of operations, and chief executive officer roles at a number of different hospitals in Massachusetts and Vermont, including Marlborough Hospital, Kindred Hospital Park View, and Baystate Franklin Medical Center.

In addition to her leadership roles with the American College of Healthcare Executives, Moore has also held positions with the Massachusetts Organization of Nurse Executives.

Board certified in healthcare management as an ACHE Fellow, Moore received her MS in Nursing Administration from the University of Massachusetts; a Post-Graduate Fellowship in Neurological Nursing from the Montreal Neurological Institute, Montreal, Québec; and a BSN from Boston State College.
