HeartCARE-2019.jpgThe American College of Cardiology has, once again, recognized Lawrence General Hospital for its demonstrated commitment to comprehensive, high-quality culture and cardiovascular care. Lawrence General was awarded the HeartCARE Center National Distinction of Excellence in August based on meeting accreditation criteria, and through its ongoing performance registry reporting. Last year, Lawrence General became one of the first four hospitals in the nation to earn this new HeartCARE Center Distinction.

This recognition reaffirms the hard work that our physicians, nurses, techs, and the entire cardiovascular team accomplishes every day,” says Kathy Caredeo, RN, director of Cardiovascular Services and Ambulatory Procedures. “Lawrence General is, and always will be, committed to providing the highest quality cardiovascular care and exceeding the national standards for cardiac quality measures.

Hospitals and health systems that have earned an ACC HeartCARE Center designation have met a set of criteria, including participating in at least two ACC Accreditation Services programs, NCDR registries and targeted quality improvement campaigns, such as Patient Navigator Program: Focus MI, that are designed to help hospitals and institutions close gaps in guideline-based care. The hospital also currently holds the following accreditations from American College of Cardiology: Cardiac Cath Lab with PCI Accreditation; Chest Pain Accreditation with Percutaneous Coronary Intervention; and Heart Failure Accreditation.

Lawrence General has demonstrated its commitment to providing the Merrimack Valley with excellent heart care,” said Phillip D. Levy, MD, FACC, chair of the ACC Accreditation Management Board. “ACC Accreditation Services is proud to award Lawrence General with the HeartCARE Center designation.

Hospitals receiving the HeartCARE Center designation from the ACC have demonstrated their overall commitment to consistent, high-quality cardiovascular care through comprehensive process improvement, disease and procedure-specific accreditation, professional excellence, and community engagement,” adds Caredeo. “Lawrence General is proud to be recognized as a forward-thinking institution with goals to advance the cause of sustainable quality improvement to better serve the patients of the Merrimack Valley.
