The Travel Clinic at Lawrence General Hospital seeks to help make sure you stay healthy when you're away from home.
We provide detailed advice on travel safety, immunization and disease prevention based on the following:
Geographical destination Will you be traveling in developed or developing countries?
Location within country Will you be in an urban or rural setting?
Length of stay Are you traveling for the short term or the long term?
Type of accommodations Will your accommodations be luxury or economy?
Purpose of travel Are you traveling on business or pleasure?
Travelers are advised regarding recommended or required immunizations. Vaccinations available at the Travel Clinic include:

- Hepatitis A
- Hepatitis B
- Typhoid Fever
- Meningococcal Vaccine
- Inactivated Polio
- Yellow Fever
- Influenza
- MMR Vaccine
- Japanese Encephalitis
- Rabies Vaccine
Our consultation with you also includes a review of food- and water-borne disease prevention (for example, travelers' diarrhea) as well as insect-borne disease prevention (malaria). Medicine is prescribed as needed given your itinerary. Other topics we may discuss are sun safety, altitude sickness, jet lag and motion sickness.
