| The Pediatric Center at
Lawrence General Hospital treats children ranging in age from newborns and
toddlers to teenagers and young adults. Common reasons for admission include
pneumonia, asthma, gastrointestinal problems, broken bones, infectious
diseases and surgeries like tonsillectomies and appendectomies. The Pediatric Center is staffed by a group of more than 20
experienced, compassionate pediatric RNs, all of whom are PALS (Pediatric
Advanced Life Support) certified. The PALS program was created as a joint
effort between the American Heart Association (AHA) and the American Academy
of Pediatrics (AAP) to assist healthcare professionals in assessing and
treating pediatric patients who require critical care.
What's more, through an affiliation with Floating Hospital for
Children at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, skilled pediatricians from
Floating Hospital are at The Pediatric Center on a round-the-clock basis, 365
days a year, providing expert treatment for whatever ails your child.
Having Floating Hospital pediatricians on site to coordinate hospital
care with your own pediatricians means there's no reason for you to take
your child into Boston for superb medical care. On the other hand, if your
child's medical condition gets to a stage that does require the resources
and expertise of doctors at Floating Hospital, our affiliation ensures that
a bed for your child is immediately available at that facility.
What we offer, then, is simply the best pediatric care in the Merrimack
Valley — and beyond.
