Lawrence General Hospital Launches New Room Service Meal Delivery System
Lawrence, MA – Lawrence General Hospital announced the launch of Just for You® room service, a new food delivery model where patients receive “the meal they want, when they want it”. It’s focused on supporting healthy eating and good nutrition for hospital patients. Now, when a patient is admitted their diet is placed into the hospital’s electronic medical records system, Paragon. When they’re ready to eat, the patient simply picks up the phone, places their order based on the diet specific menu delivered by a Just for You® host and their tray is delivered in 45 minutes or less.
“Just for You® room service has exceeded expectations” said Rachel Sanchez, RD, LDN, Assistant Director, Food and Nutrition Services at Lawrence General Hospital. “Our new patient meal delivery system has been well received by patients and hospital staff as we continue to improve our new process.”
The Just for You® program includes menus that address a variety of nutritional needs. Information regarding their diet makes it easier for patients to decide which items make the most sense for their dietary needs and personal preferences. For example, clear language explaining nutritional information is partnered with bright, user-friendly graphics to make it simple for patients to choose items that are low in fat, cholesterol or sodium.
This new patient-centered model was developed by Lawrence General’s food and nutrition provider, ARAMARK Healthcare, a leader in providing best-in-class support services that are essential to healthcare delivery. The food delivery component of the Just for You® program is just one part of this large campaign which also includes printed support materials including a vibrant and health-focused design featuring fresh fruits, vegetables and seasonal elements. The program materials and nutritional information are presented by Just for You® hosts who are trained to bring a fresh attitude to the daily task of meal service, by having a friendly face, greeting patients by name and understanding their specific dietary needs.
