LGH is a Statewide Leader in Inpatient Census Growth & Quality Scores
In the recent hospital benchmarking report of 2012 to 2011 for "like" hospitals, Lawrence General showed a 4.27% increase in outpatient census growth year to year, which places LGH #3 out of the 32 MA hospitals reporting. Only 11 of 32 hospitals showed a positive increase in number of patients during the period. The average census year to year amongst all the hospitals was negative
Lawrence General's length of stay over the same period decreased 7.21%, also a top statistic in the state.
Also, as reported recently in the Boston Globe, Lawrence General Hospital received an "A" for Quality, as all hospitals across the state were given grades ranging from A to C. Read more, and see the grades for all hospitals in Massachusetts here.
